I'm not usually one for short stories but this collection by Rebecca Donofrio changed my mind. Everyone is duplicitous. Mine hasn't even came in yet, but it's awesome. At least most animals kill to survive while humans seem to have an inner need to inflict destruction or watch the other suffer.
With supervision, this book could be made required reading for sex offenders as it gives a view of the victim. My biggest complaint here is about the book itself. Governor Martin travels to Philadelphia with his "manservant" rather than his slave. Usual plots too.. The End Of An Age.
The author is British so understandably he seems to favor British steam engine manufacturers, but he does a good job at discussing noteworthy engine manufacturers from other countries.
