Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions: More than 18 million American children are considered obese and are at risk for health problems. In fact, today’s generation of kids may be the first to experience shorter life spans than their parents. Leading pediatrician Dr. Joanna Dolgoff's Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right teaches kids how to make healthy choices based on the principles of the traffic light: green light foods are nutritious, yellow light foods are eaten in moderation, and red light foods are occasional treats. The program, which has a proven 96 percent success rate, can be tailored to suit any child’s age, gender, and weight goals. Snacks and meals are designed to ensure that kids get the nutrients they need to not only lose or maintain weight, but to grow strong, healthy bodies. Complete with sample menus, recipes, and an index of more

Editorial : "Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right is a smart, creative way to start changing a growing problem in America.  It gives kids and their parents a fun way to learn and apply healthy knowledge to everyday activities. I can't wait to share it with my own kids one day!"  –Ali Vincent, winner of The Biggest Loser and author of Believe It, Be It

The first part of the book is about every signal processing subject under the sun that touches the JPEG2000 standard - in 400 pages. What is does is teach kids which foods are healthy and more filling, allows them to make choices and still eat regular kid food. He never complains about reduced calorie wheat bread because he's so excited about the amount of lunch meat he can have. I can hardly wait to tell them they just ate beans, they'll never believe it !. My son is losing about 2 pounds per week and enjoys more fruits, vegetables and meats than ever before and enjoys picking his snacks each day. I thought at the time: "How gross". Ayer took philosophy from the general reader and rarefied it to the world of specialization and academia. I read her articles, her other books, etc. While I don't see Ayer as a member of heroic pantheon to be emulated, I do have a new respect for this most "
