I really liked the heroine because she seemed strong, independent, and witty. (was never certain of the time of the strip, but one strip seems to indicate it is more or less "modern times", probably mid-20th century. Julia Hoffman. You'll find a lot of interesting stuff regarding clashes with his artistic vision for the manga and film at that time. If you do the math, you'll find that 1x6's don't work. The story is told with the unbridled, slightly unhinged energy of a writer who doesn't believe she's got the luxury of a do-over in her next book.
Even though WOLF MOON RISING would qualify as a gothic romance by anyone's definition, I was constantly reminded of PHILIP K. Save your money buy another book..
